Organic viticulture is booming, organic wine-growing areas represent nearly 9% of the vineyard (Source Agence BIO 2016) and 16% of the vineyard is undergoing conversion. In Provence , 19% of the vineyard is organic and the Bouches du Rhône department has 25.3% of the vineyards organic. It is followed by the Côtes du Rhône Nord (16% of the areas planted) and 15% for the Côtes du Rhône Sud.
